Working Hours
- 9 hours per day:
- 6 working days per week:
- May participate in on-call duties, emergencies, and weekend coverage as per hospital requirements.

Job Summary

The Consultant Psychiatrist is responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with mental health disorders. The role involves providing inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, prescribing and monitoring medications, leading multidisciplinary treatment planning, and ensuring high standards of clinical practice and patient safety.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental status examinations.
- Diagnose and treat psychiatric, emotional, and behavioural disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Prescribe, review, and monitor psychotropic medications.




- Manage psychiatric emergencies, including suicide risk, aggression, and acute psychosis.
- Provide care for both inpatient and outpatient services.

Patient Management
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as required.
- Conduct regular ward rounds and clinical reviews.
- Maintain continuity of care and coordinate referrals when necessary.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and ethical clinical practice.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Work closely with Clinical Psychologists, Counselling Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Social Workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in case discussions and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Provide guidance and supervision to junior doctors and clinical staff.

Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
- Complete admission, progress, discharge, and treatment documentation.
