Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise day-to-day production activities and ensure smooth continuous operation of machines.
- Plan and schedule machines according to production requirements and ensure maximum machine utilization.
- Allocate work to workers and supervise their activities to achieve daily production targets.
- Have good practical knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes and production workflow.
- Perform quality inspection of manufactured parts and ensure that products meet the required dimensions and specifications.
- Must be able to independently use measuring instruments such as:
- Vernier Caliper
- Micrometer
- Height Gauge
- Angle Gauge
- Other basic inspection and measuring instruments
- Check dimensions and identify manufacturing or quality issues before material is moved for dispatch.
- Coordinate with production workers to rectify quality or dimensional issues.
- After production, supervise the segregation, counting, identification, and proper packing of finished parts.
- Maintain accurate records of produced quantities, rejected parts,
shortages, and dispatched materials.
- Ensure material is properly organized and stored in the godown.
- Prepare material for dispatch as per customer/order requirements.
- Coordinate with workers during loading and dispatch activities.
- Ensure proper handling of materials to prevent damage, mixing, or quantity discrepancies.
- Maintain discipline, safety, cleanliness, and proper working practices within the production and godown areas.
- Report daily production status, quality issues, material shortages, and dispatch details to management.
- Experience: 3-5 years or more in a sheet metal manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong practical knowledge of sheet metal production and fabrication.
- Experience in handling and supervising workers.
- Positive understanding of production planning and machine scheduling.
- Must have hands-on knowledge of dimensional inspection and measuring instruments.
