Job Role – Heavy Equipment & Commercial Vehicle Technician

Key Responsibilities:
• Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair heavy construction equipment and commercial vehicles.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing on excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, graders, rollers, backhoe loaders, tipper trucks, and other fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, transmission, braking, steering, and engine systems.
• Perform routine inspections and identify faults before they result in equipment failure.
• Replace or repair defective parts, components, and systems using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Conduct emergency repairs and breakdown assistance on construction sites when required.
• Maintain detailed service records, maintenance reports, and repair documentation.
• Ensure all equipment and vehicles comply with company maintenance standards and applicable safety regulations.
• Work closely with Site Supervisors, Equipment Operators, and Fleet Management to minimise equipment downtime.
• Maintain workshop tools and equipment in valuable working condition and ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures and company policies.
• Carry out manual work related to the assigned job as required by the site supervisor.
• Carry out any other maintenance and repair duties assigned by management.
Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician, Diesel Mechanic, or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Proven experience servicing and repairing heavy construction machinery and commercial vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, transmissions, braking systems, and diagnostic procedures.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, service documentation, and maintenance schedules.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently
