The NHS Borders Estates Department is seeking a motivated and experienced Estates Officer – (Assurance).
This key role supports delivery of statutory compliance, audit, risk and assurance across a diverse healthcare estate. You will assist the Estates Manager (Assurance) in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, NHS guidance and technical standards.
Key duties include undertaking audits and risk assessments, providing technical advice on building and engineering systems, maintaining compliance systems (e.g. SCART/CAFM), and supporting policy development and staff training. You will also liaise with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure safe systems of work are implemented and maintained.
Applicants should have a degree or equivalent experience in engineering, building services or a related discipline, with experience in statutory compliance, audit or risk management. Solid technical knowledge, excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
A full UK driving licence is required and participation in on-call/out-of-hours may be necessary
The post is based at Borders General Hospital, with flexibility to attend other sites across NHS Borders.
