Job Purpose

The Production Planner will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring production activities to ensure timely manufacturing of products as per customer requirements and business priorities. The role will involve coordination with Production, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Sales, Dispatch, and other departments to ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, materials, and production capacity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Scheduling

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales orders, customer requirements, inventory levels, and production capacity.

Prepare detailed production schedules for different product models and variants.

Ensure production plans are aligned with dispatch and delivery commitments.

2.Material Planning & Coordination





Coordinate with Purchase and Stores departments to ensure availability of required raw materials and components.

Prepare material requirements based on the production plan.

Identify material shortages and communicate requirements well in advance.

Monitor critical components and ensure they are available before production starts.

3. Capacity & Manpower Planning

Assess production capacity based on available machines, manpower, shifts, and working hours.

Plan manpower requirements according to production schedules.

Identify bottlenecks and capacity constraints.

Coordinate with Production HODs and HR regarding Manpower

4. Production Monitoring

Monitor daily production progress against the approved production plan.

Prepare daily production planning and achievement reports.

Track pending production orders and ensure timely completion.

Maintain production planning records and MIS reports.
