Role & responsibilities

Job Summary

The Logistics Executive is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the movement of cement, clinker, and raw materials from the plant to depots, distributors, and customers. The role ensures timely dispatch, cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and optimal utilization of transport resources.

Key Responsibilities

Dispatch & Transportation
- Plan and execute daily dispatch of cement/clinker as per sales and production schedules
- Coordinate with transporters for availability of trucks, bulkers, and rail rakes (if applicable)
- Ensure on-time delivery to depots, warehouses, and customers
- Monitor vehicle turnaround time and optimize loading/unloading operations

Inventory & Coordination
- Coordinate with production, sales, and warehouse teams for dispatch planning
- Monitor finished goods inventory and avoid stock-outs or overstocking
- Ensure FIFO practices and proper documentation of material movement

Documentation & Compliance




- Prepare and verify dispatch documents such as invoices, e-way bills, delivery challans, weighbridge slips, and LR copies
- Ensure compliance with GST, transport regulations, and company policies
- Handle discrepancies related to shortages, damages, or transit losses

Cost & Performance Control
- Monitor freight costs and assist in cost optimization initiatives
- Track transporter performance, delivery timelines, and service quality
- Support negotiations and rate finalization with transporters (as assigned)

Reporting & Systems
- Maintain daily dispatch and logistics MIS reports
- Update ERP/SAP/Tally systems with dispatch and transport data
- Analyze logistics KPIs such as OTIF, freight per ton, and detention charges

Safety & Plant Discipline
- Ensure adherence to safety norms during loading, unloading, and vehicle movement
- Enforce plant rules for drivers, helpers, and transport agencies
