Role & responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate crew change operations for the vessel pool assigned to the area office and assist other pool managers in fulfilling crew requirements.
- To interview, propose and recruit quality officers and crew in accordance with the Ships Owner / Managers / and other clients (if any) requirements in compliance with relevant Statutory rules and regulations.
- To brief on objectives and policies of MSISSIPL on protected and efficient operation of ships.
- To supervise the work of Fleet Personnel Executives / Asst. Fleet Personnel Executives and approve travel arrangements of ship staff joining vessels.
- To ensure that suppliers are evaluated and selected based on their ability to meet supplier requirements.
- To establish and maintain quality records of acceptable suppliers.
- To ensure that the Ship Owners / Managers / Clients / Customers crew logistical demand is adequately met by proper crew planning.
- To ensure the proper selection and recruitment of seafarers in accordance with customer’s requirements and the relevant statutory rules and regulations.
- To conduct crew’s pre-departure orientation briefing.
- Advertise for additional crew requirements through reputable newspapers, appropriate bulletin boards, or by verbal means through the company’s network in the manning industry.
- To ensure the timely deployment of recruited crew in accordance with the customer’s requirements and the prevailing travel regulations.
- To correspond between the company and relevant issuing authorities for Flag State Licenses.
- To maintain a grievance redressal mechanism in a register, the details of which are to be filled in a register.
- To ensure procedure applies for necessary action to eliminate the cause of serious and recurring nonconformities (corrective actions), handling of customer complaints and to eliminate the cause of potential nonconformities (preventive actions).
