Job Purpose

To provide secure, compassionate, and quality nursing care to patients irrespective of their social or financial background, in accordance with medical orders, hospital policies, nursing standards, and infection-control practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in wards, OPD, emergency, and other assigned areas.
- Assess patients and monitor vital signs, symptoms, fluid balance, blood glucose, and other clinical parameters.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, injections, nebulisation, and other treatments as prescribed.
- Perform routine nursing procedures such as wound dressing, catheter care, NG-tube care, and specimen collection.
- Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, ward rounds, and emergencies.
- Identify deterioration in a patient's condition and promptly inform the doctor/Nurse In-Charge.
- Maintain accurate nursing notes, patient records, medication charts, care plans, and shift handover reports.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care as applicable.




- Educate patients and family members regarding medication, treatment, hygiene, nutrition, follow-up, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain patient dignity, privacy, confidentiality, and respectful communication at all times.
- Follow infection-prevention, hand-hygiene, sterilisation, and biomedical-waste-management protocols.
- Ensure proper use, cleaning, and safe handling of nursing equipment and supplies.
- Participate in emergency care, BLS/CPR procedures, and disaster/emergency preparedness activities as required.
- Coordinate effectively with doctors, nurses, technicians, pharmacists, social workers, and other hospital staff.
- Maintain economical and responsible use of medicines, consumables, and hospital resources, particularly in the charity-care setting.
- Participate in nursing education, staff meetings, audits, quality-improvement activities, and continuing nursing education.
