Senior Australian Accountant & Bookkeeper

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Accountant and Bookkeeper
with strong expertise in the

Australian accounting and taxation framework to join our team. The ideal candidate will have

8+ years of hands-on experience
managing end-to-end bookkeeping and accounting

functions for Australian businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

 Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable/receivable, bank

reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance

 Prepare and lodge
BAS, IAS, and GST
returns in compliance with ATO

requirements

 Process payroll, including
PAYG withholding, superannuation, and STP (Single

Touch Payroll)
reporting

 Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports

 Assist with
end-of-financial-year (EOFY)
processes and liaise with external

accountants/auditors as required

 Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with Australian Accounting

Standards

 Reconcile multiple bank accounts, credit cards, and payment gateways

 Manage payroll tax,



workers' compensation, and other statutory compliance

obligations

 Provide cash flow forecasting and budgeting support

 Ensure compliance with ASIC and ATO regulatory requirements

Required Skills & Experience:


8+ years
of accounting/bookkeeping experience specifically within the
Australian

market

 Strong working knowledge of
Xero, MYOB, and/or QuickBooks
(Australian

versions)

 Solid understanding of
GST, BAS, PAYG, Superannuation, and STP
requirements

 Experience with Australian payroll compliance and awards/entitlements

 Relevant qualification:
Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or

related field

 Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills

 Solid written and verbal English communication skills

 Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a remote setting

 Reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup
