Job Description- Payroll Manager

Location & Type: Full Time at Brainware University, Barasat, West Bengal

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly payroll process for all employees including earnings, deductions,

reimbursements, incentives, arrears, and final settlements, ensuring timely and accurate

disbursement.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations such as Provident Fund (PF), Employees' State

Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), Income Tax (TDS), Labour Welfare Fund (where

applicable), and other payroll-related laws.
- Coordinate payroll inputs with the Finance, and Accounts teams.
- Verify attendance, leave records, overtime, and other payroll inputs before processing.
- Handle FNF settlements, gratuity, leave encashment, and other employee separation-related

payments.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll MIS, salary registers, and statutory returns.
- Ensure timely filing of payroll-related statutory compliances and maintain accurate

documentation.
- Respond to employee payroll queries and resolve discrepancies promptly.




- Support internal and external audits by providing payroll-related records and reports.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of employee compensation and payroll information.

Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related

discipline.
- Professional certification in Payroll, Finance, or HR will be preferred.

Experience
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in payroll processing and administration with a

significant employee base
- Prior experience in the education sector or university environment will be preferred.

Required Skills
- Solid knowledge of payroll processing, salary structuring, and statutory compliance.
- Thorough understanding of PF, ESI, TDS, Professional Tax, gratuity, bonus, labour laws, and

payroll regulations.
- Proficiency in payroll software, HRMS, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
