We are looking for a contractor to own Snowflake data platform support for the Data Engineering team. The role operates primarily in IST hours, working asynchronously with a CST-based team. The ideal candidate is self-driven, comfortable navigating ambiguous tasks with limited direction, and takes genuine ownership of their work.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Request Board Ownership:Own and manage the Snowflake access request Jira board — keep tickets in the correct status, assigned to the right owners, make changes as necessary and closed with transparent comments when complete.
- Code Delivery:Deliver completed work regularly via pull requests, following team code review and merge workflows.
- Communication:Respond to ticket comments and team messages in a timely manner; maintain visibility into ongoing work through open, documented communication.
- On-Call Support:Respond to on-call alerts during assigned roster windows across global time zones and ensure timely handoff of tier pipeline incidents to the onsite team
- AWS Cost Management:Monitor and manage AWS resource costs,



identify optimization opportunities, and maintain visibility into spend trends to support efficient cloud usage across the team
- Security & Service Support: Maintain and support existing services, with the ability to investigate and resolve security issues across APIs managed by the team

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong sense of ownership and initiative — comfortable working through ambiguous tasks independently and escalating appropriately when genuinely stuck.
- Experience with Snowflake or another cloud data warehouse (BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, etc.); solid SQL skills.
- Effective async communicator — proactively shares progress and flags blockers without waiting for scheduled check-ins.
- Proficient with Git and GitHub: creating PRs, reviewing code, and resolving build failures.
- Comfortable managing work via Jira across sprint cycles.
