Role & responsibilities
- Assess the patient and determine whether radiotherapy is appropriate.
- Define the tumor and organs at risk accurately.
- Plan the radiation dose and treatment technique.
- Deliver the prescribed radiation safely and accurately.
- Protect normal tissues as much as possible.
- Monitor the patient for acute and late side effects.
- Provide advice on skin care, nutrition, and management of treatment-related symptoms.
- Maintain accurate treatment records and ensure quality assurance and radiation safety.
- Provide emotional support and educate the patient and family about treatment.
- Follow up after treatment to assess tumor response, complications, and recurrence.
