A transport manager oversees an organization's vehicle fleet, shipping routes, and logistics staff. They ensure safe, legal, and cost-effective movement of goods or passengers, manage driver schedules, maintain fleet roadworthiness, and enforce compliance with regional transport and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
- Fleet Maintenance: Schedule routine vehicle servicing, safety inspections, and necessary repairs.
- Route Planning: Optimize daily delivery routes to reduce fuel use and guarantee on-time arrivals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Track driver work hours, licensing, and safety standards (such as local motor vehicle acts and weight limits).
- Team Management: Hire, train, supervise, and schedule drivers and dispatch personnel.
- Budget Control: Monitor transportation costs, negotiate vendor and carrier contracts, and manage departmental spending.





Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 2 to 5+ years in logistics, fleet management, or a supply chain role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Certifications: Valid local driving licenses or qualified certificates of competency in transport operations where required.
- Core Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving under pressure, familiarity with GPS/fleet tracking software, and deep knowledge of safety laws
