Job Title: Technical Sales Engineer – Industrial Automation Services

Department: Automation Sales & Business Development
Reporting To: Sales Manager / Business Development Director

Job Summary

The Automation Service Sales Engineer drives revenue growth by identifying, estimating, and closing deals for engineering services. This includes custom PLC/HMI/SCADA software development, Servo/VFD commissioning, system integration, and legacy control system retrofits. The ideal candidate balances technical engineering acumen with sharp commercial B2B sales skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development

· Generate service leads for software upgrades, legacy migrations, and system retrofits.

· Manage full sales cycles from cold outreach and lead qualifying to contract closing.

· Pitch value-added services like Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs) and breakdown support.

· Achieve quarterly sales targets by hunting new accounts and farming existing clients.

2. Technical Solutioning & Quoting

· Conduct plant site surveys to audit existing control panels and legacy systems.





· Scope out project needs based on client RFQs

· Estimate engineering hours for logic development, HMI screens, FAT, and commissioning.

· Draft techno-commercial proposals detailing the scope of work (SOW) and deliverables

3. Client & Handover Management

· Deliver technical presentations to Plant Heads, Engineering Managers, and Procurement Teams.

· Bridge the technical gap between client requirements and internal engineering execution teams.

· Clarify technical scopes regarding motor configurations, communication protocols, and safety logic.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

· Platform Knowledge: Familiarity with brands like Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Mitsubishi, or Omron.

· Core Systems: Transparent understanding of PLCs (Ladder, ST), HMI/SCADA graphics, VFD parameters, and Servo motion profiles.

· Industrial Networks: Basic knowledge of Ethern
