Job Description

Tails & Tub is looking for a skilled and compassionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in professional pet grooming, solid animal-handling skills, and a genuine love for working with pets.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform professional grooming services for dogs and cats, including bathing, drying, brushing, de-shedding, trimming and styling.

* Handle nail clipping, ear cleaning and basic hygiene care.

* Perform breed-appropriate and owner-requested grooming styles.

* Safely handle pets of different sizes, breeds, temperaments and ages.

* Recognise signs of stress, anxiety or discomfort and handle pets patiently and appropriately.

* Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and sanitation across grooming equipment and work areas.

* Inspect pets during grooming and communicate any unusual skin, coat or physical concerns to the pet parent.

* Maintain and care for grooming tools and equipment.

* Ensure every pet receives a calm, safe and comfortable grooming experience.





* Maintain professional communication with pet parents and understand their grooming requirements.

* Follow Tails & Tub’s safety, hygiene and pet-handling protocols.

Requirements

* Prior experience as a professional pet/dog groomer preferred.

* Strong knowledge of grooming techniques, tools and equipment.

* Excellent animal-handling skills.

* Patience and confidence when working with nervous, anxious or difficult-to-handle pets.

* Ability to work with different breeds, coat types and sizes.

* Knowledge of basic pet hygiene and coat care.

* Professional, reliable and responsible approach to work.

* Genuine love and respect for animals.
