Key Responsibilities in Cable Manufacturing
- Installation & Commissioning
- Assemble and install cable extrusion machines, stranding machines, and winding equipment.
- Align and calibrate rotating machinery (motors, pumps, conveyors) to ensure smooth operation.
- Maintenance & Repair
- Conduct routine inspections of bearings, shafts, gears, and couplings.
- Diagnose faults in hydraulic/pneumatic systems and repair or replace defective parts.
- Perform lubrication, component replacement, and adjustments to prevent breakdowns.
- Fabrication & Modification
- Use lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate or repair custom parts.
- Modify mechanical systems to improve efficiency or adapt to current cable designs.
- Safety & Compliance
- Follow strict safety protocols during rigging, lifting, and heavy equipment handling.
- Participate in risk assessments and ensure compliance with plant safety standards.
- Documentation
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and equipment performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Skills




- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs;, and schematics.
- Proficiency with precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, laser alignment tools).
- Knowledge of pumps, piping systems, valves, and material handling equipment.
- Education & Training
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Certifications in rigging, welding, or hydraulic systems are advantageous.
- Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and quick fault diagnosis.
- Team collaboration with production and electrical departments.
- Commitment to safety and housekeeping standards.
