Reporting to: Assistant General Manager - Maintenance & Projects

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and administer effective occupational health, safety, setting (including Sustainability) programs and maintain the related policy and procedures in accordance with Group Safety Policy and IMS requirements.
- Advise and assist the company in the fulfillment of its obligations, statutory and prevention of personal injuries and maintaining safe working environment
- Carry out safety inspections/ observe the physical conditions of work and the work practices followed by the employees and to render advice on measures to be adopted for reducing the unsafe conditions and preventing unsafe practices
- Working closely with all the department in changing the safety culture of the organization with effective implementation of Behavioral Based Safety (BBS)
- To conduct periodical reviews on the risk assessment (Hazop) for all operations,



equipments and conduct risk assessments for which it has not been done earlier
- Prepare and maintain data with respect to incidents, audit findings, safety observations, safety training etc.
- Carry out incident investigation to find out root causes and suggest remedial measures
- Maintain, review and report safety performance, identifying opportunities for improvement along with implementing preventative and corrective actions as required
- To Assist in the Statutory Compliance of the applicable laws & regulations related to Health, Safety & Environment (Specifically in Factories Act, Environment Laws, Requirements of Pollution Control Boards, PESO Regulations, Gas Cylinder Rules)
- To conduct Fire Safety Audits, Mock Drills, Fire Drills at frequent intervals.
- Liaising with Government Authorities like Joint Director of Health & Safety, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, Fire Department etc
- Promote, create and maintain employees- interest in safety.
