The Pharma Water System Technician is responsible for the operation, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, sanitization, and compliance of pharmaceutical water generation, storage, and distribution systems, including Purified Water (PW), Water for Injection (WFI), and Pure Steam systems. The role ensures continuous supply of water meeting pharmacopoeial and regulatory requirements while maintaining compliance with cGMP standards.

Key Responsibilities

Water System Operations
- Operate and monitor pharmaceutical water systems including:
- Purified Water (PW)
- Water for Injection (WFI)
- Pure Steam System
- Reverse Osmosis (RO)
- Electro Deionization (EDI)
- Multi-Effect Distillation (MED)
- Vapor Compression Distillation Units
- Storage and Distribution Loops
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of water generation and distribution systems.

Monitoring & Sampling
- Perform routine monitoring of critical process parameters:
- Conductivity
- TOC (Total Organic Carbon)
- Temperature
- Flow Rate
- Pressure
- Ozone levels (where applicable)




- Collect and submit water samples for microbiological and chemical testing.
- Maintain sampling schedules as per approved procedures.

Maintenance Activities
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on water system equipment.
- Replace filters, membranes, valves, pumps, and instrumentation components.
- Coordinate calibration and qualification of system instruments.
- Support annual shutdown and maintenance activities.

Sanitization Activities
- Execute thermal and chemical sanitization of PW/WFI systems.
- Maintain sanitization records and verify effectiveness.
- Support biofilm prevention and contamination control initiatives.

Troubleshooting
- Investigate alarms, equipment failures, and abnormal trends.
- Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Support deviation investigations related to water system excursions.

Documentation & Compliance
- Complete logbooks, maintenance records, and utility checklists.
