Key Responsibilities
- Derive detailed engineering designs for plastic and metal cabinet parts from industrial design (ID) concepts.
- Develop prototypes, evaluate performance, and support R&D; and tooling activities across different stages of product development.
- Design and develop sheet metal and plastic components for production readiness.
- Perform engineering modelling and CAD drawing preparation, including PLM documentation.
- Coordinate with external vendors for prototyping, tooling, and development activities.
- Prepare and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) for products.
- Design and development of product lighting and assemblies
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth execution during all development phases.
- Willing to take responsibility to travel for mould trail, FPA and product integration and validation
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of Plastic injection mould design and construction.
- Familiarity with injection moulding processing parameters.
- Knowledge of various plastic materials and their applications.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal design and fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in CAD modelling ( Solidworks preffered) and engineering drawings
- Positive knowledge in DFMEA, DFM&A;
- Good knowledge in GD&T; and stack-up tolerance
- Better understanding of mould flow analysis and FEA is an added advantage
- Technical Knowledge & SkillsTC Windchill preffered) and engineering documentation practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelores degree in Mechanical Engineering / product design/ mould design /equivalent.
- Relevant experience in product design and development (plastic and sheet metal components preferred).
- Hands on Experience in manufacturing or product development environment will be an advantage
