Soham Retreat is looking for a responsible and experienced vegetarian cook or chef to manage the daily kitchen requirements of our residential retreat centre in Rishikesh.

The cook will prepare fresh, wholesome vegetarian food for approximately 15–20 people every day, including three meals and two tea services. The ideal candidate should have experience preparing sattvic and North Indian vegetarian food and be able to independently manage food quantities, kitchen supplies, cleanliness and hygiene.

Main Responsibilities
- Prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for approximately 15–20 people
- Prepare morning and evening tea
- Cook fresh sattvic and North Indian vegetarian food
- Plan balanced and varied meals in coordination with the retreat team
- Estimate food quantities and ration ingredients properly
- Maintain stock and prepare lists of required groceries and kitchen supplies
- Store vegetables, grains, spices and other ingredients correctly
- Minimise food waste and use kitchen supplies responsibly
- Serve all meals on time according to the retreat schedule




- Adjust food when required for reasonable dietary needs
- Keep the kitchen, storage areas, cooking surfaces and utensils clean
- Follow proper food-safety and hygiene standards
- Inform management in advance about shortages, repairs or other kitchen needs

Requirements
- Minimum two years of qualified cooking experience
- Experience preparing food for groups of 15–20 people
- Clean, organised, punctual and responsible
- Willing to live at the retreat centre in Rishikesh
- Able to work six days per week
- Previous experience in a retreat centre, ashram, guesthouse or residential centre is preferred

What We Offer
- Monthly salary of ₹20,000–₹30,000, based on experience and skills
