Job Description – Radiology Typist
Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Radiology Typist to support the radiology department by accurately preparing diagnostic imaging reports and maintaining patient documentation. The ideal candidate should possess strong typing skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Type and prepare radiology reports dictated by radiologists
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of diagnostic reports
- Maintain patient confidentiality and proper medical documentation
- Verify patient details and imaging information before report preparation
- Coordinate with radiologists and technicians for report clarification when required
- Manage digital records within HIS, RIS, and PACS systems
- Edit and proofread reports for formatting and medical terminology accuracy
- Upload, print, and dispatch reports to concerned departments
- Maintain proper filing and departmental documentation




- Follow hospital protocols, NABH standards, and data privacy policies
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Any Graduate / Diploma in Medical Transcription, Computer Applications, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in radiology typing or medical transcription preferred
- Excellent typing speed and accuracy
- Knowledge of medical terminology and radiology procedures
- Familiarity with HIS, RIS, and PACS systems preferred
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Basic computer proficiency and MS Office knowledge
- Solid attention to detail and proofreading ability
