Job Summary

The Branch Credit Manager will be responsible for managing the credit appraisal and sanctioning process at the branch for Home Loan and LAP proposals. The role involves assessing customer profiles, evaluating financial and credit risk, ensuring policy compliance, and maintaining quality of the loan portfolio while supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Credit Appraisal
- Evaluate Home Loan and LAP applications as per company credit policies.
- Analyse customer income, banking transactions, financial statements, bureau reports and repayment capacity.
- Assess the creditworthiness and risk profile of applicants.
- Conduct detailed analysis of salaried and self-employed customers.
- Evaluate property, collateral, legal and technical reports.

2. Credit Decision & Sanction
- Take credit decisions within the delegated authority.
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to credit policies before sanction.
- Identify deviations and recommend appropriate mitigants.
- Ensure timely processing of credit proposals without compromising credit quality.

Business & Sales Coordination
- Work closely with the Sales and Branch teams for smooth processing of cases.
- Provide guidance to the Sales team on credit policies, eligibility and documentation.
- Maintain healthy coordination between Sales, Credit, Operations, Legal and Technical teams.
- Support the branch in achieving business targets while maintaining portfolio quality.

4. Risk Management
- Identify potential fraud and credit risks during appraisal.
- Analyse bureau history, repayment behaviour and existing obligations.
- Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor portfolio quality and highlight early warning signals.

5. Team & Branch Support
- Guide Sales and Credit team members on complex cases.
- Conduct regular case reviews and provide feedback to the team.
- Ensure TAT adherence for login-to-sanction and sanction-to-disbursement.
