Job Summary

IVY World School, Jalandhar is looking for an experienced and responsible Mess Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of the school mess/cafeteria and ensure hygienic, nutritious, and timely meals for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete day-to-day operations of the school mess.
- Supervise kitchen staff, cooks, helpers, and other mess personnel.
- Plan and monitor daily meal preparation as per the approved menu.
- Ensure food quality, taste, quantity, hygiene, and timely service.
- Monitor procurement, receiving, storage, and consumption of food items.
- Maintain proper stock registers and inventory records.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for food and kitchen requirements.
- Ensure proper storage of groceries, vegetables, dairy products, and other food items.
- Monitor kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and personal hygiene of staff.




- Ensure compliance with food safety and school hygiene standards.
- Minimize food wastage and control mess-related expenses.
- Maintain records of daily meals, stock, purchases, and consumption.
- Address student/staff feedback related to food quality and service.
- Ensure proper maintenance and safe use of kitchen equipment.
- Coordinate with the school administration for mess requirements and inspections.
- Handle emergencies or operational issues related to food and mess services.

Candidate Requirements
- Graduate/Diploma in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Food Production, or a related field preferred.
- 35 years of relevant experience in school mess, hostel, hotel, institutional kitchen, or catering operations.
- Robust knowledge of food hygiene, sanitation, and kitchen safety.
- Good team-management and vendor-management skills.
- Basic knowledge of inventory and cost control.
