Role Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Finance Controller to manage the day-to-day financial operations of our client, overseeing both the export (meat, poultry, seafood) and import (fruits) sides of the business. The ideal candidate will bring solid working knowledge of international trade finance, statutory compliance, and cost control within the perishable goods and cold-chain sector, along with the ability to independently own the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

Export Finance & Forex
- Manage pre-shipment/post-shipment finance, buyer's credit, and export bill discounting, and mitigate forex risk through appropriate hedging strategies.
- Handle letters of credit and banking relationships tied to cross-border shipments.

Export Incentives & Compliance
- Maximize utilization of export incentive schemes (RoDTEP, EPCG, Advance License) and ensure GST, customs, and other statutory compliance for international trade.

Working Capital & Risk Management
- Control DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) via timely realization of export proceeds,



and manage buyer/distributor credit risk through ECGC cover and LC-backed transactions.
- Own financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow across the company's export and import business verticals.

Cost, Reporting & Controls
- Manage cost accounting and inventory valuation for cold-chain and perishable stock to control landed costs, wastage, and margins.
- Prepare MIS reports, P&L; statements, and balance sheets for management, and coordinate statutory, internal, and customs audits.
- Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls and processes.
- Supervise the finance/accounts team and support management with financial analysis as the business grows.

Requirements
- CA / CMA / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.
- 5-7 years of overall finance experience, ideally including exposure to an export/import or trading business (food, agro-commodity, or FMCG sector preferred).
