Key Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and maintain detailed PSCAD models for utility-scale solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and hybrid power plants.
- Perform EMT studies to evaluate system performance under faults, switching events, control interactions, harmonic conditions, transient overvoltages, and other dynamic disturbances.
- Support generator interconnection and transmission planning activities through technical analysis associated with system impact studies, facilities studies, and grid compliance assessments using PSCAD, PSS®E, TARA, PowerWorld, and related tools.
- Analyze inverter-based resource performance, including fault ride-through capability, voltage and frequency response, control stability, and plant-level interactions.
