Role Overview

The Shopify Merchandiser is the person standing at the front door of the shop, constantly arranging the shelves so the right products catch a shopper's eye at the right moment. Unlike a physical store, every choice here is measurable — what gets clicked, added to cart, abandoned or sold out.

This role turns those signals into a store that quietly gets better every week. You own how the catalogue looks, performs and converts — how collections are built and products are ranked, how launches and promotions go live, and how everyday traffic turns into orders — all while keeping the catalogue clean, accurate and in stock.

The Day-to-Day

A typical week starts with the numbers — last week's conversion rate, average order value, best and worst sellers,



and anything that went out of stock. From there it's a mix of reactive and planned work: fixing a collection that isn't converting, updating product data for a restock, building the page for an upcoming launch, setting up a festival offer, and coordinating with the warehouse so on-site stock matches reality.

Around launches — a new lunchbox colour, a back-to-school bundle, a Diwali gifting range — the week gets busier: building products, arranging collections, briefing the on-page content, setting pricing and discounts, and checking everything on mobile before it goes live.

Catalogue & Storefront
- Build and maintain the catalogue — own every product as a Shopify entry, including variants, images, descriptions, tags and metafields, kept accurate and consistent so products are easy to find, filter and trust.
