Freelance Film EditorRemote — India | Project-Based | 4 Short Films

I’m looking for a
freelance film editor
to collaborate with me on editing four short films for my filmmaker/director portfolio.

The films are all
under 2 minutes
and vary in style — from visual/fashion-led pieces to narrative editing and a mockumentary.

This is a
film editing role, not a social media/reels editing role
. I’m looking for someone who understands storytelling, pacing, atmosphere, sound and cinematic rhythm rather than simply rapid cuts and transitions.

The Projects

Film 01 — Visual / Fashion Film

Existing footage with no recorded sound. The edit will focus on visual rhythm, music, pacing, atmosphere and colour.

Film 02 — Visual / Fashion Film

Similar visual-led footage requiring creative editing, music, pacing and colour treatment.

Film 03 — Narrative Edit

Existing clips need to be reviewed, organized and shaped into a coherent short film with a clear visual narrative.

Film 04 — Mockumentary

Existing footage with some weaker shots and unclear dialogue.



This will require creative restructuring, audio cleanup, pacing, selective use of footage and storytelling to create the strongest possible final film.

What You'll Be Doing
- Review and organize existing footage
- Build strong narrative structures from raw material
- Edit for cinematic pacing and rhythm
- Select appropriate music and/or sound
- Clean and enhance dialogue/audio where possible
- Use sound design to strengthen the films
- Colour correction / basic colour grading
- Create clean transitions and visual continuity
- Work collaboratively on creative decisions and revisions
- Deliver final high-quality exports suitable for a professional filmmaker portfolio

What I'm Looking For
- Previous experience editing
short films, documentaries, fashion films, branded films or cinematic projects
- Strong understanding of storytelling and pacing
- Good visual and musical sense
- Ability to work with imperfect footage and still f
