Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop robotic welding, assembly, inspection, machining, testing, manual production, pneumatic and hydraulic fixtures.
- Study customer drawings and process requirements.
- Develop fixture concepts based on cycle time, ergonomics, repeatability and manufacturability.
- Create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
- Perform tolerance stack-up and GD&T; analysis.
- Select standard components such as cylinders, guides, clamps, sensors, locators and indexing mechanisms.
- Design Poka-Yoke mechanisms wherever applicable.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, machining, fabrication and assembly teams.
- Support fixture trials, debugging, modifications and customer approvals.
- Prepare BOMs, assembly drawings, exploded views and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with customer standards and internal engineering practices.
- Work closely with automation, robotics,
controls and project teams.Role & responsibilities
Required Technical Skills
- Robust knowledge of fixture design principles.
- Understanding of 3-2-1 locating principle, GD&T;, tolerance stack-up and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding and CNC machining.
- Knowledge of pneumatic fixture design and robotic welding applications.
- Ability to perform design calculations and select suitable materials.
- Familiarity with industrial standards and safety requirements.
