Job Description

We are looking for a Senior DB2 DBA / DB2 z/OS System DBA with strong experience in DB2 administration, performance tuning, database utilities, and migration from CA DB2 tools to IBM DB2 utilities.

Must-Have Experience
- Strong experience in DB2 on z/OS at System DBA and DBA level.
- Hands-on experience with CA DB2 tools and migration to IBM DB2 Utilities Suite for z/OS.
- Experience migrating:
- CA Fast Check IBM DB2 Utilities Suite
- CA Quick Index IBM DB2 Utilities Suite
- CA Fast Load IBM DB2 Utilities Suite
- CA Fast Recover IBM DB2 Utilities Suite
- Experience with DB2 subsystem installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades and migrations.
- Strong knowledge of REORG, RUNSTATS, LOAD, COPY and RECOVER utilities.
- Strong expertise in SQL tuning, access path analysis and DB2 performance optimization.
- Good knowledge of z/OS, JCL and SDSF.
- Experience with SPUFI, QMF and DB2 Admin Tool.

Responsibilities




- Administer and maintain DB2 subsystems on z/OS.
- Manage DB2 databases, tablespaces, tables, indexes and related objects.
- Perform DB2 upgrades, migrations and subsystem configuration.
- Execute and monitor DB2 utilities including REORG, RUNSTATS, LOAD, COPY and RECOVER.
- Monitor DB2 performance, buffer pools, storage and resource utilization.
- Troubleshoot DB2 performance issues and optimize SQL/access paths.
- Manage backup, recovery and database integrity.
- Provide L2/L3 DB2 production support and perform root-cause analysis.
- Support change, release and migration activities through the CAB process.
- Manage DB2 security, access controls and compliance requirements.
- Perform capacity planning and recommend optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with application, z/OS and infrastructure teams.
