Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Azure Database Migration Technical Consultant with 5 to 7 years of dedicated experience executing complex database engine cutovers, schema conversions, and data migrations to Azure PaaS.

In this role, you will lead the technical transition of legacy and enterprise databases (Oracle, Sybase, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) onto native Azure PaaS offerings (Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Database for PostgreSQL/MySQL), ensuring minimal downtime and zero data loss.

Key Responsibilities
- Assessment & Schema Conversion: Perform database compatibility assessments, convert complex schemas, tables, indexes, views, and rewrite database stored procedures/functions/triggers for target Azure PaaS engines.
- Database Cutover Execution: Plan, rehearse, and execute production database engine cutovers and data sync strategies using tools like Azure Database Migration Service (DMS), Data Migration Assistant (DMA), and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
- Data Pipelines & Sync: Design and manage staging, CDC (Change Data Capture),



initial bulk loads, and delta synchronization pipelines to achieve near-zero downtime cutovers.
- Performance Tuning & Validation: Perform post-migration query optimization, index tuning, execution plan analysis, data reconciliation, and functional validation.
- Security & Governance: Implement Azure PaaS security standards including Azure RBAC, Entra ID authentication, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), Azure Key Vault integration, and Private Endpoints.

Key Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of core hands-on experience in Database Administration, Data Engineering, and Cloud Database Migrations.
- Solid expertise executing migrations from Oracle, Sybase, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server to Azure PaaS (Azure SQL DB, Azure SQL MI, Azure Cosmos DB).
