Transport In-Charge – Job Description Job Title: Transport In-Charge Department: Transport / Administration Reports To: Admin Manager / HR Manager / General Manager Job Responsibilities Manage day-to-day transport operations of the organization. Plan and monitor vehicle routes, schedules, and trip assignments. Allocate drivers and vehicles based on operational requirements. Monitor driver attendance, duty timings, and performance. Ensure vehicles are available and operational as per schedule. Maintain vehicle documents such as RC, Insurance, FC, Permit, PUC, and Driving Licence records. Monitor vehicle servicing, repairs, maintenance, and breakdowns. Maintain daily vehicle movement, trip sheets, fuel consumption, and mileage records. Monitor fuel usage and control unnecessary fuel expenses. Ensure drivers follow traffic rules, company policies, and safety procedures. Conduct regular checks of vehicle condition and safety equipment. Coordinate with workshops and service providers for vehicle repairs. Handle transport-related complaints and resolve operational issues.



Arrange emergency transportation during breakdowns or other incidents. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly transport reports. Ensure compliance with applicable transport/RTO requirements. Maintain proper records of accidents, fines, repairs, and insurance claims. Coordinate with HR/Admin for employee transportation requirements. Qualifications Educational Qualification: Any Degree / Diploma preferred. Valid Driving Licence is preferred. Basic knowledge of automobiles and vehicle maintenance. Knowledge of traffic rules, road safety, and transport regulations. Basic computer knowledge, including MS Excel and email. Positive communication and coordination skills. Leadership and team-management ability. Experience Minimum: 3 years of experience in transport operations. Preferred: 5–8 years of experience in transport/fleet management.
