Job Description
Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Lead and mentor a team of backend engineers in Java and related technologies.
- Drive hiring, onboarding, and performance management for the backend engineering team.
- Build a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous learning. Architecture & Backend Engineering
- Architect scalable and maintainable backend solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
- Apply solid fundamentals in Core Java (OOPs, Collections, Design Patterns, Multithreading), JDBC, and MyBatis to guide design decisions and code reviews.
- Oversee development across the Spring Framework, REST APIs, and front-end-adjacent technologies (HTML, jQuery, AJAX, JavaScript, CSS) where backend and UI integration is required.
- Ensure performance, security, scalability,



and maintainability of the product across all backend services.Tech Stack Modernization
- Define and drive the roadmap for modernizing legacy components of the tech stack - including framework upgrades, architecture refactoring, and adoption of modern engineering practices.
- Identify technical debt and prioritize remediation alongside feature delivery.
- Evaluate and introduce modern tools, frameworks, and patterns (microservices, CI/CD, containerization) to improve velocity and system resilience.
- Drive adoption of DevOps practices to improve deployment frequency, reliability, and operational visibility. Quality & Engineering Practices
- Champion a strong quality culture - code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and performance benchmarking
- Define and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and design review processes across the team.
- Partner with QA to reduce production defects and improve release reliabil
