Summary:
The Pediatric Psycho-Oncology Program (PPOP) Coordinator plays a pivotal role in advancing psychosocial care for children and families affected by cancer. This position is central to designing, implementing, and sustaining a comprehensive, multidisciplinary psychological support system across clinical, hospital, and community settings. The role ensures that emotional, psychological, and developmental needs are met throughout the cancer journey—from diagnosis and treatment to palliative care and bereavement. By integrating evidence-based interventions, expressive therapies, and family-centered support, the coordinator enhances patient resilience, strengthens care team collaboration, and fosters a healing workplace. The position also drives capacity building, research, and program evaluation, contributing to sustainable impact and organizational growth within the pediatric oncology ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
Plan, develop, and implement the Pediatric Psycho-Oncology Program (PPOP) in alignment with clinical and organizational goals.
Design and support protocols, policies,
and administrative frameworks for psychological services.
Deliver psychological interventions via face-to-face, telephonic, and online platforms across all treatment phases (diagnosis, treatment, relapse, palliative, bereavement).
Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments using psychometric tools, interviews, and observational methods.
Develop individualized treatment plans, monitor progress, and provide ongoing follow-ups and referrals.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
Lead and facilitate Sharing & Caring Sessions for parents and medical teams.
Implement expressive therapies including play, art, music, storytelling, relaxation techniques, and clown therapy.
Deliver non-pharmacological procedural pain interventions to support child-friendly care.
Promote child life interventions through therapeutic environments, libraries, and wish-granting
