Solution Architect – Planning (Retail)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect with strong expertise in Retail Planning processes and technology enablement. The role requires deep understanding of planning functions such as demand planning, supply planning, assortment planning, replenishment, and merchandise financial planning, and the ability to architect scalable, integrated solutions using modern planning platforms. Readiness to travel Experience with o9 Solutions is a plus, but expertise in any leading planning platforms is acceptable.

The ideal candidate will bridge business and technology, enabling planning transformation initiatives and ensuring scalable, articulate solutions and convince business. Coordinate with other system owners for integration of these systems with both upstream and downstream systems (Datalake etc.,) with effective, and future-ready solutions

Location & Travel:

Bangalore, may require on-site presence during key project phases.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design





- Define end-to-end architecture for Retail Planning solutions aligned with business objectives
- Translate business planning requirements into scalable and integrated technology solutions
- Design solution architecture covering planning platforms, integrations, data flows, and reporting layers
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, scalability, and performance standards

Planning Domain Enablement

- Work closely with business stakeholders across:
- Demand Planning
- Supply Planning
- Inventory & Replenishment Planning
- Assortment Planning
- Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP)
- S&OP; / IBP processes

- Provide architectural guidance to enable planning transformation and optimization
- Ensure planning solutions support business agility, accuracy, and operational efficiency

Technology Leadership

- Architect solutions using planning platforms such as:
- o9 Solutions (nice to have)
- SAP IBP, SAP APO, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, Anaplan, Oracle Planning, or similar tools

- Define integration architecture with ERP, WMS, POS, eCommerce, and other enterprise systems
- Guide teams on data models, APIs, integration patterns, and cloud architecture

Stakeholder Collaboration

- Act as a trusted advisor to business and IT stakeholders
- Lead architecture discussions, solution design workshops, and technical decision making
- Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure architectural integrity during implementation





Governance & Delivery Support

- Provide architectural oversight during project implementation
- Ensure best practices, scalability, performance, and maintainability
- Support solution roadmap planning and technology evolution

Required Skills & Experience

Domain Expertise

- Strong understanding of Retail Planning processes and business workflows
- Experience enabling planning through technology platforms
- Experience in planning transformation or implementation projects

Technology Expertise

- Experience with one or more planning tools such as:
- SAP IBP / APO
- Blue Yonder
- Kinaxis
- Anaplan
- Oracle Planning
- o9 Solutions (preferred but not mandatory)

- Experience in:

- Solution architecture and design
- Integration architecture (APIs, middleware, event-based integrations)
- Data modeling and enterprise data architecture
- Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP preferred)

Architecture & Leadership Skills

- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Solid stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience leading solution design for large enterprise implementations

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in Retail, FMCG, or Consumer Goods industry
- Experience with o9 Solutions platform (nice to have)
- Experience in enterprise integrations using middleware platforms
- Exposure to modern architecture patterns (microservices, API-led, cloud-native)

Experience

- 8-10 years of experience in IT and Solution Architecture
- Minimum 5+ years in Planning solutions and Retail domain preferred
