Job Summary

The Assistant Professor in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, conducting practical and laboratory sessions, guiding students in academic and clinical activities, and contributing to the overall development of the department. The faculty member will also participate in research, student mentoring, examinations, and institutional activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, and practical sessions in Medical Laboratory Science.
- Teach subjects related to Clinical Biochemistry, Hematology, Clinical Pathology, Microbiology, Immunology, Histopathology, Blood Banking, and other relevant areas according to specialization.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, presentations, practical manuals, and academic records.
- Conduct laboratory demonstrations and ensure students follow appropriate laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
- Guide students during practical training, clinical postings, internships, projects, seminars, and research activities.
- Assess students through assignments, practical examinations, internal assessments, viva voce, and other evaluation methods.
- Maintain attendance, assessment records, course files, and other academic documentation.
- Participate in university/college examinations, including question-paper preparation, invigilation, practical examinations, and evaluation.
- Mentor students regarding academic performance, professional development, discipline, and career opportunities.




- Participate in curriculum development and implementation as per university and regulatory requirements.
- Undertake research activities and contribute to publications, conferences, seminars, workshops, and Faculty Development Programmes.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment, reagents, specimens, consumables, and laboratory records.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, infection-control, biomedical-waste-management, and quality-assurance procedures.
- Participate in departmental meetings, admissions, accreditation, inspections, committees, and other institutional responsibilities.
- Perform any other academic or administrative duties assigned by the Head of Department/Principal/Management.

Qualification

- Master's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science / Medical Laboratory Technology or relevant specialization from a recognized university/institution.
- Qualification and experience should meet the applicable requirements of the affiliating university and/or relevant regulatory authority.
- Teaching, clinical laboratory, or research experience will be preferred.

Required Skills

- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of Medical Laboratory Science.
- Effective teaching and classroom-management skills.
- Good laboratory and clinical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to guide and mentor undergraduate/postgraduate students.
- Knowledge of research methodology and scientific writing.
- Basic proficiency in computers, presentations, LMS, and digital teaching tools.
- Commitment to academic quality, skilled ethics, teamwork, and student development.

Preferred Attributes

Candidates with relevant teaching/clinical experience, research publications, conference participation, and experience in academic or laboratory quality-assurance activities will be preferred.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
