Position: Manager (EHS & Quality).

Department: EHS & Quality.

Reporting To: Director.

Purpose:

To lead the Company's Environment, Health, Safety (EHS) and Quality functions by ensuring all MEP works are executed safely, in compliance with statutory requirements, approved drawings, client specifications, IS/NBC/NFPA standards, and company quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)

Develop and implement EHS policies, SOPs and secure work procedures.

Conduct HIRA/JSA before commencement of activities.

Ensure mandatory PPE compliance at all sites.

Conduct safety induction, toolbox talks and work permit training.

Monitor work at height, lifting operations, confined space, hot work, electrical safety and excavation safety.

Conduct regular EHS audits and ensure timely closure of observations.

Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses with RCA and CAPA.

Ensure statutory compliance with Labour Laws, Factory Rules, BOCW, Fire Safety and client EHS requirements.

Organize emergency mock drills and preparedness plans.

Maintain safety records, permits and statutory documentation.

B. Quality Management (MEP Specific):

Design & Drawing Quality

Verify that construction follows approved AFC drawings only.

Ensure latest revisions are available at site.

Review coordination drawings and resolve clashes before execution.

Coordinate with Design, Planning and Project teams to avoid rework.

Incoming Material Quality

Inspect all incoming MEP materials before installation.

Verify make, model, rating and specifications against approved submittals.

Check manufacturer test certificates and calibration certificates.

Reject damaged or non-approved materials.

Maintain Material Inspection Reports (MIR).

Electrical Quality:

Ensure proper cable routing, dressing and tagging.

Verify cable bending radius and support spacing.

Check glanding, lugging, ferruling and termination quality.

Verify torque tightening of all electrical connections.

Inspect earthing continuity and earth resistance.

Ensure DBs, PCCs, MCCs and panels comply with approved drawings.

Witness insulation resistance (IR), continuity and functional testing.

Ensure labeling of all panels, cables and equipment.

HVAC Quality:

Inspect duct fabrication as per SMACNA standards.





Verify duct supports and spacing.

Ensure proper insulation thickness and vapor sealing.

Check chilled water piping alignment and supports.

Witness pressure testing, flushing and air balancing.

Verify AHU, FCU and ventilation equipment installation.

Ensure vibration isolation and alignment of rotating equipment.

Fire Fighting Quality:

Verify pipe routing, supports and hanger spacing.

Witness hydrostatic pressure testing.

Inspect sprinkler spacing, orientation and coverage.

Verify installation of hydrants, hose reels and valves.

Check fire pumps and jockey pump performance testing.

Ensure fire alarm devices are installed as approved.

Witness integrated fire system testing.

Plumbing & Utility Quality:

Inspect water supply and drainage piping installation.

Witness hydro and leakage testing.

Verify pipe gradients for drainage systems.

Ensure proper support spacing and anchoring.

Inspect pumps, tanks and valves installation.

Verify STP/WTP utility installations.

Check insulation and identification of piping.

ELV/BMS Quality:

Verify installation of CCTV, Access Control, PA, LAN and BMS systems.

Inspect cable management and labeling.

Witness testing and commissioning of ELV systems.

Verify integration with BMS wherever applicable.

Installation Quality Control:

Ensure installation complies with approved Method Statements and ITPs.

Conduct stage-wise inspections before concealment.

Verify housekeeping during execution.

Minimize rework through preventive inspections.

Ensure workmanship meets client expectations.

Testing & Commissioning:

Prepare commissioning checklists.

Witness FAT/SAT wherever applicable.

Verify functional testing of all MEP systems.

Coordinate integrated system testing.

Ensure punch points are closed before handover.

Documentation & Handover:

Maintain ITPs, MIRs, WIRs, NCRs and Quality Registers.

Maintain calibration records.





Prepare QA/QC reports.

Review O&M; Manuals and As-built Drawings.

Ensure complete quality documentation before project handover.

C. Audit & Compliance:

Conduct internal quality audits.

Conduct vendor and subcontractor quality audits.

Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Monitor corrective and preventive actions.

Track quality KPIs and improvement plans.

D. Training:

Conduct quality awareness programs.

Train engineers on installation standards and quality requirements.

Train subcontractors on approved work procedures.

Develop quality inspection checklists.

E. Coordination:

Coordinate with Projects, Design, Procurement, Planning and Stores.

Attend client quality meetings.

Resolve consultant observations.

Ensure closure of punch lists.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Safety:

Zero fatality.

Zero Lost Time Injury (LTI).

100% PPE compliance.

100% toolbox talks conducted.

Closure of safety observations within target timelines.

Quality:

Zero major NCRs.

Reduction in rework cost.

100% Material Inspection Reports (MIR) before installation.

100% Work Inspection Requests (WIR) before covering works.

100% testing before commissioning.

100% commissioning documentation.

100% as-built drawings before handover.

Timely closure of client punch points.

Client quality rating above target.

Successful completion of internal, external and client quality audits.

Qualification:

Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering.

Diploma in Industrial Safety/NEBOSH/IOSH

ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification preferred.

Experience:

Manager: 6–10 years in MEP EPC projects.

Authority:

Stop any unsafe work immediately.

Stop or reject any work not meeting approved quality standards.

Reject non-conforming materials and workmanship.

Raise NCRs and ensure corrective actions.

Approve quality inspections and recommend project handover only after all quality requirements are fulfilled.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per year
