Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Manpower Planning & Recruitment
- Understand manpower requirements from Production, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Purchase, and other departments.
- Prepare recruitment plans based on vacancies and production requirements.
- Recruit employees for permanent, contract, trainee, and apprentice positions.
- Sourcing Candidates
- Source candidates through job portals, recruitment agencies, employee referrals, campus recruitment, ITIs, polytechnic colleges, and local hiring drives.
- Build a database of skilled and semi-skilled candidates.
- Conduct local recruitment drives for shop-floor manpower.
- Screening & Interviewing
- Screen CVs and applications according to job requirements.
- Conduct preliminary HR interviews.
- Coordinate technical interviews with department heads.
- Evaluate candidates on skills, experience, salary expectations, and suitability.
- Joining & Onboarding
- Coordinate documentation and background verification.
- Issue offer/appointment-related documents as per company process.
- Complete joining formalities.
- Conduct induction and introduce new employees to company policies, safety rules, and workplace practices.
- Manufacturing Workforce Hiring
- Recruit positions such as:
- Production Operators
- Machine Operators
- Technicians
- Welders/Fitters
- Electricians
- Quality Inspectors
- Maintenance Staff
- Supervisors
- Engineers
- Warehouse/Stores Staff
- Contract Labour & Compliance
- Coordinate with manpower contractors.
- Maintain proper employee and contractor documentation.
- Ensure recruitment processes follow applicable labour laws and company policies.
- Coordinate with HR/Admin for statutory documentation and records.
- Attendance & Employee Coordination
- Coordinate with the HR/Payroll team regarding new joiners, attendance, shift allocation, and employee records.
- Track absenteeism and manpower shortages.
- Support retention initiatives for critical employees.
- Campus & ITI Recruitment
- Develop relationships with ITIs, polytechnic colleges, and engineering colleges.
- Conduct campus interviews and recruitment drives.
- Build a pipeline of fresh talent and apprentices.
- Employee Retention
- Understand reasons for employee turnover.
- Conduct exit interviews.
- Identify recruitment or onboarding issues contributing to attrition.
- Support HR initiatives to improve employee retention.
- HR MIS & Reporting
- Maintain recruitment trackers.
- Prepare reports on:
- Open positions
- Candidates sourced
- Interviews conducted
- Offers released
- Joining status
- Recruitment TAT
- Attrition
- Manpower status
Important Skills for a Manufacturing HR Recruiter
- Solid communication and negotiation skills
- Good knowledge of recruitment processes
- Knowledge of manufacturing/shop-floor manpower
- Ability to handle bulk recruitment
- Knowledge of HRMS and MS Excel
- Vendor/consultant management
- Interviewing and candidate assessment
- Basic knowledge of labour laws and compliance
- Ability to work under manpower and recruitment targets
- Good coordination with Production and other department heads
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
A manufacturing HR recruiter is commonly measured on:
Time to Hire + Cost per Hire + Joining Ratio + Recruitment TAT + Quality of Hire + Attrition + Vacancy Closure + Manpower Availability.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
