Description

The L3 Network Engineer is responsible for providing senior-level technical expertise, escalation support, and operational leadership across complex enterprise and managed network environments. The role focuses on the diagnosis and resolution of advanced network issues, the implementation of complex changes, infrastructure optimisation, and the continual improvement of network performance, resilience, and security.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide escalation support for complex network failures

- Optimise monitoring thresholds and telemetry

- Maintain campus network architecture and standards

- Maintain WAN routing architecture and resilience design

- Maintain remote access architecture

- Maintain DC network design, routing policies and failover models

- Maintain network routing interaction with security zones

- Approve complex network changes and architecture updates

- Design network automation standards and templates

- Maintain network design supporting hosting platforms

- Perform capacity planning and performance optimisation





- Maintain architecture and operational standards

- Analyse service performance trends and resilience metrics

Key Requirements

- Extensive experience in enterprise networking, managed services, or infrastructure engineering environments

- Advanced knowledge of networking technologies including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, QoS, VXLAN, SD-WAN, multicast, and high availability architectures

- Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking platforms such as Cisco, F5, Azure Networking or equivalent technologies

- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents affecting large-scale or business-critical environments

- Experience designing, implementing, and optimising LAN, WAN, wireless, data centre, and hybrid cloud network infrastructures

- Advanced understanding of network security principles including segmentation, firewall integration, VPN technologies, NAC, and secure architecture design

- Experience supporting cloud networking within Microsoft Azure, or hybrid cloud environments

- Experience leading technical investigations, root cause analysis, and major incident resolution activities

- Familiarity with automation and scripting technologies such as Python, Ansible,



or REST APIs would be advantageous

- Experience working within ITIL-aligned operational environments, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Continual Service Improvement processes

- Strong documentation skills with experience producing low-level designs, operational standards, and technical procedures

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, vendors, leadership teams, and technical specialists

- Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNP/CCIE is highly desirable
