Position Summary

Le Royal Park, Puducherry is looking for a skilled and reliable Carpenter to join the Engineering & Maintenance team. The candidate will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, installing, and fabricating wooden furniture, fixtures, doors, cabinets, and other carpentry-related items throughout the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out day-to-day carpentry repairs and maintenance throughout the hotel.
- Repair and maintain doors, windows, furniture, tables, chairs, cabinets, wardrobes, and wooden fixtures.
- Attend to carpentry maintenance requests from guest rooms, restaurants, public areas, offices, and back-of-house areas.
- Repair damaged furniture and wooden fixtures promptly.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install wood and other related materials.
- Assist in making and installing basic wooden structures, fittings, and furniture.
- Perform minor polishing, varnishing, and finishing work when required.
- Inspect furniture and wooden fixtures regularly and report defects.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and correctly.
- Maintain carpentry tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition.
- Keep the work area clean and safe after completing jobs.
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests affecting guest rooms and hotel operations.
- Coordinate with the Engineering/Maintenance team for repair and renovation work.
- Maintain basic records of completed jobs and materials used.
- Follow hotel safety procedures, maintenance standards,



and company policies.
- Assist the Engineering team with other maintenance activities when required.

Candidate Profile

- ITI/Diploma in Carpentry, Woodworking, or a related trade preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, commercial property, or similar environment.
- Good knowledge of carpentry tools, wood materials, and basic carpentry techniques.
- Experience in furniture, door, window, cabinet, and wooden fixture repairs.
- Ability to take accurate measurements and complete work neatly.
- Positive practical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and comfortable handling tools and materials.
- Safety-conscious and responsible.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays when required.
