Job Overview

New Horizon Public School, Airoli Sector 3, is inviting applications for the position of Lab Assistant – Biology, Chemistry & Physics to support the Science Department. The candidate should have hands-on experience in managing school science laboratories, be safety-conscious, organized, and enthusiastic about working in an academic environment.

Educational Qualification

- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Science with specialization in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
- Additional certification in laboratory safety or laboratory technology will be an advantage.

Experience

- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a school, college, or similar science laboratory environment.
- Experience handling Biology, Chemistry, and Physics laboratory equipment will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare laboratory equipment, chemicals, specimens, and other materials before practical classes.
- Assist teachers during laboratory sessions, practical, and demonstrations.
- Set up experiments as instructed by teachers.
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and proper organization of the laboratory.
- Ensure proper storage, labelling, and handling of chemicals, equipment, and laboratory materials.
- Ensure that students follow laboratory safety rules and procedures.
- Handle and dispose of laboratory waste, including hazardous chemicals, safely and as per school guidelines.
- Maintain an updated inventory of laboratory equipment, chemicals, specimens, and other supplies.




- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or requirements to the concerned authority.
- Maintain records of experiments, materials used, equipment, and stock.
- Maintain records of students' attendance during laboratory sessions.
- Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment, wherever applicable.
- Assist in maintaining and updating laboratory manuals, practical records, and journal books.
- Identify and arrange for the proper removal/disposal of obsolete or dead-stock materials as per school procedures.
- Ensure that all laboratory equipment and materials are kept safely after practical sessions.
- Support teachers and students in the smooth and protected conduct of laboratory activities.

Skills & Competencies

- Good knowledge of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics laboratory equipment and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory safety protocols.
- Ability to handle chemicals, laboratory tools, and equipment responsibly.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records and inventory.
- Ability to work cooperatively with teachers, students, and school staff.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow safety instructions and school policies strictly.

Preferred Requirements

- Prior experience working in a school or college laboratory.
- Familiarity with Biology, Chemistry, and Physics laboratory setups.
- Basic first-aid knowledge.
- Knowledge of safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
- Ability to maintain laboratory records, stock registers, manuals, and journals.

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
