Accounts Executive – Operations, Payroll & Statutory Compliance

Department: Finance & Accounts
Experience: 2–5 years
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-time
Reporting To: Finance Manager / Management

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Executive to manage day-to-day accounting operations, payroll processing, employee-related statutory compliances, and taxation activities. The candidate will be responsible for accurate and timely processing of salaries, PF, ESI, Professional Tax (PT), TDS, GST, accounting entries, reconciliations, and statutory filings.

Key Responsibilities1. Accounting Operations

- Handle day-to-day accounting entries and maintain books of accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and expense records.
- Maintain ledgers and perform bank and ledger reconciliations.
- Track outstanding receivables and payables.
- Assist with monthly and annual closing of accounts.
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and statutory requirements.
- Work on Tally / ERP / accounting software and Excel.

2. Payroll Management

- Handle end-to-end monthly payroll processing.
- Collect and verify attendance, leave, overtime, incentives, reimbursements, and other payroll inputs.
- Calculate salaries, deductions, allowances, incentives, and reimbursements.
- Calculate and process PF, ESI, PT and TDS deductions.
- Prepare payroll registers and salary statements.
- Generate and distribute employee payslips.
- Process Full & Final (F&F;) settlements for employees leaving the organization.
- Maintain employee payroll records and resolve payroll-related queries.

3. PF, ESI & Professional Tax

- Handle monthly PF calculations, challans and ECR filing.
- Manage ESI calculations, payments, and applicable filings.




- Handle Professional Tax (PT) calculations, payments, and returns as applicable by state.
- Ensure employee PF/ESI registrations and updates are completed correctly.
- Maintain statutory records and documentation.
- Ensure all statutory payments and filings are completed within due dates.

4. TDS & Tax Compliance

- Calculate monthly TDS on salaries and applicable vendor payments.
- Prepare TDS workings and reconciliations.
- Make timely TDS payments.
- Prepare and coordinate quarterly TDS returns, including Form 24Q where applicable.
- Support preparation/issuance of employee Form 16.
- Handle employee income-tax declarations and investment proofs.
- Coordinate with tax consultants and auditors when required.

5. GST & Other Compliance

- Assist with GST data preparation, reconciliation, payments, and returns.
- Reconcile purchase/sales data with accounting records.
- Maintain GST and tax-related documentation.
- Coordinate with consultants for statutory filings and notices.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour and tax regulations.

6. Operations & MIS

- Coordinate with HR and Operations for attendance, employee master data, joining, exits, and payroll inputs.
- Prepare monthly payroll and finance MIS reports.
- Prepare salary cost, headcount, statutory liability, and expense reports.
- Reconcile payroll with accounting/GL records.
- Monitor statutory payment and filing calendars.




- Support management with financial and operational reports.

7. Audit & Documentation

- Maintain proper accounting, payroll, tax, and statutory records.
- Provide documents and schedules required for internal/statutory audits.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, banks, and government authorities when required.
- Ensure confidentiality of employee salary and financial information.

Required Qualifications

- B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance or equivalent.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in Accounts, Payroll and Statutory Compliance.
- Strong practical knowledge of Indian payroll and statutory compliance.
- Hands-on experience with PF, ESI, PT, TDS and GST.
- Good knowledge of Tally/ERP and MS Excel.
- Strong reconciliation and numerical skills.
- Ability to independently manage monthly payroll and compliance deadlines.

Preferred Skills

- Advanced Excel – VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, reconciliations, MIS.
- Tally Prime / ERP / payroll software experience.
- Positive knowledge of Indian accounting and taxation.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to coordinate with HR, Operations, employees, auditors and consultants.
- Ability to work under strict monthly statutory and payroll deadlines.

- 100% accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Timely PF, ESI, PT and TDS payments/filings.
- Accurate accounting entries and reconciliations.
- Zero/minimal payroll and statutory errors.
- Timely submission of monthly MIS.
- Proper maintenance of statutory and accounting records.
- Timely closure of employee payroll and F&F; requirements.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
