Role Overview
The QC Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining quality control systems across incoming raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods. Given the sensitivity of baby products, the role requires a robust focus on safety compliance, contamination control, and zero-defect quality culture, along with leading the QC team and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor quality control procedures across incoming (raw material), in-process, and final product inspection stages
- Ensure products meet all applicable safety, regulatory, and industry standards for baby/infant products (e.g., material safety, toxicity limits, IS/ISO standards as applicable)
- Possess full working knowledge of ISO standards and ensure plant-wide compliance and documentation
- Lead QMS implementation and take ownership of internal/external audit leadership, including preparation, conduction, and closure of audits
- Apply 7QC Tools (Check Sheet, Pareto Chart, Cause & Effect Diagram, Histogram, Control Chart, Scatter Diagram, Stratification) for quality analysis and problem-solving
- Conduct thorough Root Cause Analysis for quality issues, deviations, and defects, and drive effective corrective/preventive actions
- Minimize the number of customer complaints through proactive quality checks, trend analysis, and preventive measures
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) for quality deviations, customer complaints, and rejections
- Reduce lumps, rejections, and process-related defects by working closely with the Production team on process control
- Conduct regular internal audits of the shop floor,
warehouse, and QC lab to ensure compliance with quality and hygiene standards
- Maintain 5S standards in the QC lab and inspection areas at all times
- Manage calibration schedules for testing/measuring instruments and ensure traceability
- Review and approve raw material, in-process, and finished goods test reports before dispatch/release
- Coordinate with vendors/suppliers on incoming material quality issues and drive supplier quality improvement
- Prepare and present quality performance reports (rejection %, complaint trends, CAPA status) to management
- Lead, train, and mentor QC inspectors/officers; build a quality-first culture across the plant
- Support new product development/trials with quality validation and testing protocols
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to baby product manufacturing
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Plastics, Polymer, or related Engineering field (additional Quality certifications like Six Sigma, ISO Lead Auditor preferred)
- 8–10 years of experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance, preferably in plastics, baby products, FMCG, or consumer goods manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of QMS, ISO 9001 documentation, and quality tools (7QC Tools, RCA, CAPA, 5-Why, Fishbone, SPC)
- Hands-on experience with quality testing/inspection methods relevant to plastic/baby products
- Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards for baby/infant products
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and quality reporting tools
Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
