Job Description – Lab Technician (Civil Engineering)

Position: Lab Technician – Civil Engineering
Department: Civil Engineering
Experience: 2–3 Years
Qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering / ITI in a relevant field
Location: Dehradun, Uttarakhand

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and responsible Lab Technician to support the Civil Engineering Department in conducting laboratory practicals, maintaining equipment, and assisting faculty and students during experiments and testing activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist faculty and students during civil engineering laboratory experiments and practical sessions.
- Operate and maintain civil engineering laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Conduct and assist with testing of concrete, cement, soil, aggregates and other construction materials.
- Prepare and maintain laboratory records, test reports and documentation.
- Ensure proper handling, storage and maintenance of laboratory equipment and materials.
- Monitor laboratory inventory and inform the department about requirements and damaged equipment.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and operational procedures.




- Support faculty members in preparing laboratory demonstrations and practical sessions.
- Maintain cleanliness, discipline and proper functioning of the laboratory.
- Perform other laboratory-related duties assigned by the department.

Required Skills

- Practical knowledge of Civil Engineering laboratory testing and procedures.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Basic documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with faculty and students.
- Responsible, organized and safety-conscious approach.

Preferred

Candidates with prior experience in an engineering college/university laboratory will be preferred.
