Database Architect (AI-Driven SaaS)

About the Role

We are seeking a next-generation Database Architect who combines deep expertise in database design with AI-augmented productivity tools to achieve 5x the efficiency and quality of traditional roles. This position is pivotal in defining and implementing the database strategy for our multi-tenant SaaS products, ensuring scalability, high performance, and airtight security.

Key Responsibilities

- Database Architecture & Design

- Define and implement scalable database architectures for multi-tenant SaaS applications.

- Design relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) data models optimized for performance and flexibility.

- Leverage AI-driven tools for schema design, indexing strategies, and query optimization.

- Performance & Scalability

- Implement partitioning, sharding, and caching strategies for high-throughput applications.





- Use AI-based monitoring and anomaly detection tools to pre-emptively resolve performance bottlenecks.

- Security & Compliance

- Architect solutions that ensure data privacy, encryption, and compliance with global standards (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2).

- Employ AI-based threat detection systems for proactive database security.

- Automation & Productivity

- Integrate AI copilots for query optimization, migration planning, and documentation.

- Automate backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies with intelligent orchestration.

- Data Governance & Reliability

- Establish standards for data quality, lineage, and lifecycle management.

- Ensure high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) capabilities across regions.

Required Skills

- Proven experience as a Database Architect, Data Platform Engineer, or equivalent senior role.
- Mastery of SQL and NoSQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, etc.).
- Expertise in cloud-native database services (AWS RDS/Aurora, GCP Spanner, Azure Cosmos DB).
- Strong command of performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML-driven database tools for schema design, performance monitoring, and anomaly detection.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for database provisioning.
- Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks.
- Strong analytical mindset, able to blend traditional expertise with AI-first productivity.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus) and AI/LLM-powered search.
- Certification in cloud database specializations (AWS Database Specialty, Google Professional Data Engineer).
- Exposure to AI-based DevOps tools (GitHub Copilot, Datafold, DBT with AI augmentation).
- Prior experience in SaaS product companies.
