RF Community Media, publish Asian Standard and Asian Sunday & Style news titles in the UK. We are looking for a journalist to manage our digital news stories, who have an insight into British Asian news and lifestyle, delivering community-led journalism, entertainment coverage and culturally relevant stories to audiences across the UK and beyond.

Through Asian Standard, we cover breaking news, current affairs, politics, crime, business, sports and more, with Asian Sunday & Style we cover Bollywood, Hollywood, fashion, culture and digital trends shaping the British Asian community.

We are looking for a passionate and driven Digital Journalist who thrives in a fast-paced newsroom and understands how to create engaging stories for modern digital audiences.

The ideal candidate must be a valuable story telling and understand content creation and social media platforms.

Due to the nature of the news industry, flexibility will be required during breaking news situations and major events.

The Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the digital growth of Asian Sunday & Style by producing compelling and timely content for our website and social media platforms, from news syndicates and press releases and trending sources.

You will have a strong news instinct, excellent written UK English and a passion for storytelling that resonates with British Asian audiences. You must be proactive, digitally savvy and capable of identifying stories before competitors.

The role will involve covering trending news, community, sports, entertainment, celebrity and lifestyle content, while also adapting relevant agency copy into our house style for online and social distribution.

Key Responsibilities

- Source, research and write original news stories for digital publication
- Identify breaking stories and publish content quickly and accurately
- Monitor digital trends, social media platforms and audience engagement
- Produce regular Bollywood, Hollywood and entertainment content




- Adapt relevant news agency material into Asian Standard editorial style
- Upload and manage content across website and social media platforms
- Create engaging captions, headlines and multimedia content
- Assist with audience growth and digital readership targets
- Attend events, launches and community functions where required
- Support live and urgent news coverage outside standard hours when necessary
- Work collaboratively with editorial and social media teams

Essential Skills & Experience

- Excellent command of written and spoken UK English
- Strong understanding of digital journalism and online news trends
- Passion for storytelling and community-focused journalism
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
- Strong understanding of British Asian audiences and cultural trends
- Experience using social media professionally for news publishing
- Familiarity with Canva and basic video editing tools
- Ability to source and verify stories independently
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Knowledge of Bollywood, Hollywood and entertainment news

Desirable Skills

- Experience working within a digital newsroom
- Photography and video content creation skills
- SEO and analytics knowledge
- Understanding of WordPress or similar CMS platforms
- Experience covering live events or breaking news

Contract & Salary

This position will begin with a 3-month probationary contract.

Following successful completion of the probation period and achievement of agreed performance targets, the candidate will be offered a permanent contract with a salary increase.

Salary starts at 30,000 indian rupees per month.
