Position Summary

Le Royal Park, Puducherry is looking for an experienced, responsible, and guest-focused Bar Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel bar. The candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent guest service, managing the bar team, maintaining beverage quality and inventory, and ensuring smooth and profitable bar operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the overall day-to-day operations of the hotel bar.
- Ensure professional, friendly, and efficient service to all guests.
- Supervise, train, and motivate bartenders and bar service staff.
- Prepare staff duty rosters and manage daily shift operations.
- Ensure proper opening and closing procedures for the bar.
- Monitor beverage preparation and service standards.
- Ensure cocktails, mocktails, and other beverages are prepared according to hotel standards.
- Maintain proper control of liquor, beverages, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and bar equipment.
- Monitor beverage stock, inventory levels, and daily consumption.
- Conduct regular stock checks and minimize wastage, breakage, and pilferage.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of beverages in accordance with hotel procedures and applicable regulations.
- Monitor bar sales, cash handling, billing, and daily sales reports.
- Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests professionally.
- Coordinate with the Kitchen, Restaurant, Purchasing, Stores, and other departments.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, grooming, and safety.
- Conduct regular staff briefings and provide training on service standards and product knowledge.
- Develop and update beverage menus and suggest promotions or special offerings in coordination with management.




- Monitor beverage costing and assist in maintaining departmental profitability.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, SOPs, and applicable liquor laws and regulations.
- Assist in organizing special events, celebrations, and functions requiring bar service.
- Prepare operational and inventory reports for the Food & Beverage Manager/Hotel Management.

Candidate Profile

- Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in bar operations, preferably in a hotel or reputed restaurant.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial bar position is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, cocktails, mocktails, and bar service.
- Positive knowledge of beverage inventory and cost control.
- Excellent guest-handling and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team-management abilities.
- Good understanding of responsible alcohol service and applicable regulations.
- Professional appearance with excellent grooming standards.
- Good command of spoken English; knowledge of Tamil/Hindi is an advantage.
- Willingness to work in shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
