Heart It Out is seeking a deeply empathetic, non-judgmental, and trauma-informed Counselling Psychologist to provide dedicated mental health support to the LGBTQIA+ community. We're looking for a seasoned professional with strong therapeutic skills across evidence-based modalities (CBT, REBT, trauma-informed approaches, etc.), excellent case conceptualization ability, and experience handling complex adult concerns. The role requires emotional maturity, ethical integrity, strong documentation practices, and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
We believe that therapy should be a safe, validating, and empowering experience. In this role, you will act as a core pillar of support for individuals navigating identity exploration, minority stress, family dynamics, gender transition, and intersectional challenges. We strongly encourage applications from candidates within the LGBTQIA+ community, as lived experience often brings a unique, inherent depth of understanding to this clinical work.
As a Counselling Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing counselling, psychotherapy and follow up care to individual adults along with formulating treatment plans and crisis intervention for them. At Heart It Out, we care! We strive to provide accessible mental healthcare for all. This vision comes to life through skilled and compassionate individuals like you. If you're passionate about creating safe spaces, committed to continuous learning, and ready to contribute meaningfully to a growing mental health ecosystem, we'd love to hear from you.
Master's degree in Psychology (Counselling or Clinical) or an equivalent RCI-recognized qualification.
A minimum of 2 years of supervised clinical experience specifically working with LGBTQIA+ clients.
Demonstrated knowledge of gender-affirming care models and intersectional feminist frameworks.
A non-judgmental, inclusive, and social-justice-oriented approach to therapy.
Exceptional active listening skills, emotional resilience, and the ability to build strong therapeutic alliances with diverse populations.
Excellent oral/written communication skills; proficiency in at least 3 Indian languages is preferred.
Highly empathetic, compassionate, culturally sensitive, non-judgmental, and deeply passionate about the mental health space.
Strong multitasking, time-management, and exceptional attention to detail.
A proactive drive to take initiative and responsibility, and an openness to learning from failure.
Provide affirmative, sex-positive, and gender-affirming individual therapy for LGBTQIA+ clients (covering identity, dysphoria, minority stress, and relationships).
Formulate treatment plans, provide immediate crisis intervention, and refer clients to specialists when needed.
Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in LGBTQIA+ affirmative care.
Provide crisis intervention and offer compassionate support in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment.
Supervise, instruct, and train psychological interns, junior therapists, and mental health staff.
Evaluate prospective psychologists joining the Heart It Out ecosystem.
Work with multidisciplinary teams and external professionals to ensure holistic client care and casework consultation.
Participate in peer supervision, clinician meetings, workshops, and ongoing professional development.
Develop and manage collaborative mental health projects and non-clinical research studies.
Maintain a professional online and social media presence to represent Heart It Out.
Maintain ethical, confidential, and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with professional standards.
