Chartered Accountant - Job description – Payfin

We are a fast-scaling fintech startup building digital payment solutions for businesses across India. As part of our growth, we are expanding our Finance team and looking for a Chartered Accountant (CA) to lead financial operations, compliance, and reporting.

You as a CA will be responsible for financial planning, accounting, taxation, compliance, and audits to ensure strong financial governance. This role requires expertise in Indian accounting standards, fintech/payment regulations, and RBI compliance.

You will be Responsible for:

- Prepare and finalize financial statements, MIS reports, and reconciliations.
- Manage P&L;, balance sheet, and cash flow on a monthly/quarterly basis.
- Oversee fund flow management, vendor payments, and reconciliations with banks.
- Ensure compliance with Companies Act, RBI guidelines, GST, TDS, and other statutory regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors, regulators, and tax authorities. Maintain corporate records, filings, and ensure statutory timelines are met.
- Handle direct and indirect taxation, returns filing, and assessments.
- Lead internal and statutory audits with auditors and finance partners.
- Advise management on tax efficiency and risk mitigation.
- Partner with leadership for financial forecasting and budgeting.
- Provide insights to optimize unit economics, cost control, and profitability.





Must have:

- Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards, Ind-AS, GST, TDS, RBI reporting.
- Experience in fintech, BFSI, or payments industry is a robust plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, Tally, ERP tools, and financial reporting software.

Qualifications:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
- 2+ years of post-qualification experience (experience in fintech/startups preferred).
- Prior experience in audit, taxation, or finance operations is an advantage.
