Job Title: MEP Engineer (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing)
Department: Facilities / Infrastructure / Projects
Location: [School/College Campus Location]
Reports To: Facility Manager / Project Head / Administrative Head
- Job Summary:
The MEP Engineer is responsible for the planning, design review, execution, and
maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems within the
educational institution. The role ensures all campus infrastructure operates
efficiently, safely, and in compliance with statutory regulations, providing a
conducive learning environment.
- Key Responsibilities:
1. Design & Project Management:
Review MEP drawings, layouts, and specifications for new construction and
renovation projects.
Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and contractors for seamless
project execution.
Monitor installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems.
Ensure projects are completed within timelines and budget.
2. Operations & Maintenance:
Oversee the operation and maintenance of:
o Electrical systems (HT/LT panels, DG sets, UPS, lighting systems)
o HVAC systems (Air Conditioning, ventilation)
o Plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, STP/ETP)
Develop preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely execution.
Troubleshoot breakdowns and ensure minimal disruption to academic
activities.
3. Safety & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, safety standards, and building
codes.
Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
Maintain fire safety systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers) in
operational condition.
Liaise with government authorities for inspections and approvals.
4. Energy Management:
Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives.
Promote sustainability practices such as solar systems, water conservation,
and waste management.
Maintain records of utility usage and prepare reports.
5. Vendor & Contract Management:
Identify, evaluate,
and manage MEP contractors and service providers.
Supervise vendor performance and ensure quality standards are met.
Verify bills, work completion, and service reports.
6. Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain technical documentation, drawings, AMC records, and maintenance
logs.
Prepare periodic MIS reports on system performance and maintenance
activities.
Keep inventory of critical spares and equipment.
7. Support to Campus Operations:
Ensure uninterrupted utilities for classrooms, labs, hostels, and
administrative blocks.
Provide technical support during events, examinations, and special
functions.
Coordinate for infrastructure upgrades and expansions.
- Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (MEP
specialization preferred).
Certification in MEP, HVAC, or Facility Management is an added advantage.
- Experience:
2–5 years of experience in MEP systems, preferably in educational
institutions, hospitals, or large campuses.
Experience in handling campus infrastructure and maintenance operations is
preferred.
- Skills & Competencies:
Robust knowledge of MEP systems and building services.
Project management and coordination skills.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
Good communication and vendor management skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and basic AutoCAD.

System uptime and reliability
Preventive maintenance compliance
Energy efficiency improvements
Response time to breakdowns
Compliance and audit readiness
Cost control and budget adherence
- Working Conditions:
Based on campus with occasional travel between branches (if applicable).
May require availability during emergencies or critical maintenance
activities.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
