Position: Manufacturing Supervisor

1. JOB PURPOSE

To supervise and control day-to-day manufacturing activities for Cleanroom Equipment, Air Filtration Products and Air Handling Products, ensuring production is completed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and delivery schedules.

The candidate should have solid hands-on experience in the manufacturing of Pass Boxes, Laminar Air Flow Units, Reverse Laminar Air Flow Units, Bio Safety Cabinets, Air Filters and related Cleanroom Equipment.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESA. Production Supervision

- Supervise day-to-day manufacturing activities from raw material to finished product.
- Plan and allocate work to operators, fabricators, welders, assemblers and other production personnel.
- Ensure production is completed according to the Production Plan and Delivery Schedule.
- Monitor production progress and report delays, bottlenecks and manpower requirements.
- Ensure optimum utilisation of manpower, machines, materials and production facilities.
- Coordinate with Planning, Purchase, Stores, Quality and Engineering departments.

B. Product Manufacturing

The candidate should have practical knowledge of manufacturing/assembly of:

- Static Pass Box
- Dynamic Pass Box
- Laminar Air Flow (LAF)
- Reverse Laminar Air Flow (RLAF)
- Bio Safety Cabinet (BSC)
- Air Shower
- Dispensing / Sampling Booth
- Cleanroom Equipment
- Pre Filters
- Fine Filters
- HEPA Filters
- Other Air Filtration and Cleanroom Products

C. Sheet Metal & Fabrication

- Supervise fabrication using GI, MS, SS 304 and SS 316 sheets.
- Knowledge of sheet-metal processes including:
- Laser / CNC cutting
- Turret punching
- CNC bending
- Shearing
- TIG/MIG welding
- Grinding and finishing
- Powder coating
- Buffing / polishing
- Assembly
- Ensure dimensions and fabrication are as per approved drawings.
- Monitor weld quality, surface finish, dimensional accuracy and workmanship.
- Identify fabrication defects and ensure corrective action.

D. Cleanroom Equipment Assembly

- Supervise assembly of LAF, RLAF, BSC, Pass Box and other cleanroom equipment.
- Ensure proper installation of:
- HEPA Filters
- Pre Filters
- Blowers / EC Fans
- Motors
- Dampers
- Pressure Gauges
- Differential Pressure Sensors
- UV Lamps
- LED Lighting
- Electrical Control Panels
- Interlocking Systems
- Ensure proper sealing and gasket installation.
- Check airflow direction and equipment configuration as per approved drawings.

E. Air Filter Manufacturing

For candidates handling the filter manufacturing section:

- Supervise manufacturing of Pre Filters, Fine Filters and HEPA Filters.




- Monitor filter frame fabrication and assembly.
- Ensure correct media cutting, pleating, bonding and sealing processes.
- Monitor filter media, adhesive, gasket and frame quality.
- Ensure correct dimensions and workmanship.
- Coordinate with QC for required testing and inspection.
- Maintain production records and traceability.

F. Quality Control

- Ensure production is carried out strictly as per approved drawings, BOM, specifications and work instructions.
- Conduct in-process inspection at various manufacturing stages.
- Identify and control rework, rejection and manufacturing defects.
- Coordinate with Quality Department for final inspection.
- Ensure proper documentation of inspection and testing.
- Implement corrective actions for recurring manufacturing problems.

G. Production Planning & Productivity

- Prepare daily/weekly production plans in coordination with the Production Manager.
- Monitor actual production against planned quantities.
- Track productivity and identify production bottlenecks.
- Minimise idle time, rework, rejection and material wastage.
- Improve manufacturing methods and production efficiency.
- Maintain proper production records and daily reports.

H. Manpower Management

- Allocate manpower according to production requirements.
- Supervise operators, fabricators, welders, fitters, electricians and helpers.
- Monitor attendance, discipline and productivity.
- Train workers in safe and correct manufacturing practices.
- Identify manpower skill gaps and recommend training.

I. Material & Inventory Control

- Coordinate with Stores for timely availability of raw materials and components.
- Ensure proper utilisation of SS/GI/MS sheets, filter media, electrical components and consumables.
- Minimise material wastage and scrap.
- Report shortages, excess consumption and material issues to the Production Manager.
- Ensure proper identification and segregation of materials.

J. Testing & Final Inspection

- Coordinate functional testing of manufactured equipment.
- Ensure equipment is ready for final QC inspection before dispatch.
- Assist in checking:
- Airflow
- Air velocity
- Differential pressure
- Electrical functions
- Interlocks
- Leakage / sealing
- Noise / vibration
- Filter installation
- Overall workmanship
- Ensure all production and testing checklists are completed.

3. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Experience:



5–10 years in Cleanroom Equipment / HVAC / Air Filtration / Engineering Manufacturing.

Mandatory practical experience in manufacturing of one or more of the following:

- Pass Box – Static / Dynamic
- Laminar Air Flow
- Reverse Laminar Air Flow
- Bio Safety Cabinet
- Air Shower
- Dispensing Booth / Sampling Booth
- Cleanroom Equipment
- Pre Filters / Fine Filters / HEPA Filters

Candidates with strong experience in sheet-metal fabrication and assembly of cleanroom equipment will be preferred.

4. TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

The candidate should have good practical knowledge of:

- Engineering drawings
- BOM and production drawings
- Sheet-metal fabrication
- SS 304 / SS 316 fabrication
- GI/MS fabrication
- CNC bending and punching
- TIG welding
- Equipment assembly
- Electrical panel and basic electrical wiring
- Blower / Fan installation
- HEPA filter installation
- Airflow and pressure concepts
- Measuring instruments
- Quality inspection
- Production planning

Knowledge of Cleanroom HVAC and GMP requirements will be an advantage.

5. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

- Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Diploma / ITI candidates with strong relevant hands-on experience may also be considered.

8. IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate should be a hands-on manufacturing professional, not merely a production coordinator.

He should be capable of understanding a manufacturing drawing, planning the fabrication and assembly sequence, allocating manpower, identifying production problems and ensuring that the complete product is manufactured, tested and handed over to Quality/Dispatch within the committed schedule.

Experience in Cleanroom Equipment and HEPA/Air Filter manufacturing will be given high preference.

Salary: As per experience and suitability
